JJ’s Party Rentals & Planning officially became our dream come true in January 2021, but the heart behind it began long before that.
John has spent over 30 years in emergency response, and I, Brandy, have worked in sales for more than 25 years while carrying a lifelong love for planning and decorating parties. In 2011, our families blended together, creating what we call our modern-day Brady Bunch with five children.
In 2013, our family grew again with the birth of our daughter, Jasilyn, quickly nicknamed JJ. At just three months old, JJ was diagnosed with profound bilateral hearing loss. Without hearing aids, she is unable to hear. By medical definition, she is considered deaf, but that has never slowed her down one bit.
Like many parents of children with disabilities, we had natural concerns about what the future workforce might look like for her. We both know JJ can accomplish anything she sets her mind to, but we also knew we wanted to create opportunity, not limitations.
For years, we explored business ideas and even considered franchise opportunities, but nothing truly felt right. Then one day, it clicked.
JJ loves family. She loves helping plan and decorate parties. She loves fun.
A party rental business made perfect sense.
After many conversations, and yes, a few disagreements, we decided to take a leap of faith. With JJ’s blessing and excitement, we began building what is now JJ’s Party Rentals & Planning.
We invested every extra dollar into purchasing top-of-the-line equipment. We research every item carefully to ensure it meets our standards for safety, cleanliness, and quality. JJ is involved in every purchase, and she definitely gives her two cents.
One of our favorite memories happened shortly after we received a new bounce house. A few days later, JJ walked up to me with our website pulled up on her phone and asked, “Why isn’t our new bounce house on the website?” Needless to say, I got right on it. I can still picture her long, skinny finger scrolling through our site. Hopefully I am retired before she officially takes over or I might get written up.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to create a legacy for our daughter while helping families create unforgettable memories.
When you hear JJ’s Party Rentals, we want you to think of memories, fun, family, community, clean equipment, safe equipment, and friendly customer service.
We want JJ’s to serve our community for many years to come.
A True Family Business
When you call or text JJ’s, you are reaching John or me directly. I handle invoices and customer communication. John is the muscle and logistics coordinator behind every delivery. Alongside us is JJ, learning every part of the business and always ready to help. She is the curly-headed one you may see at your event, and if you ordered chairs, she will most likely be helping sling them alongside her dad. Our son Joshua is right there too, helping every step of the way.
With every booking, we move one step closer to our long-term goal of creating employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. JJ often says she wants to hire “other people with hearing aids.” That vision is what drives us forward.
